Cornea and Anterior Segment

Fellowship training requires more in-depth knowledge about the pathophysiology and management of ophthalmic diseases that can usually be obtained in residency training in Ophthalmology. This is a program of continuous period of intense and focused training in developing and maintaining knowledge, skills, scholarship, and professionalism.

Subspecialty Fellowship training for Cornea and Anterior Segment encompasses the following areas:

  1. Diagnosis and medical management of diseases of the conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, and other diseases of anterior segment.
  2. Principles of contact-lens fitting and management of complications of contact-lens wear.

Duration:The duration of fellowship is (3 months duration, no hands-on exposure on surgeries will be provided).

Requirements::

  • Candidates who have completed post graduate degree
            (D.O./F.C.P.S./M.S./equivalent degree )
  • recognized by BMDC/IIEI&H) in ophthalmology may apply.
  • The candidate must have Binocular single vision (BSV).
  • Age should not exceed 45 years.

Session: Short term fellowship training admission open any time depending on availability of slot.

Dhaka-1215) or send by mail to (education@islamia.org.bd).

Selection for Fellowship will be made on a competitive basis based on the results of a written test (MCQ) and a subsequent interview.  (Skype interview for foreign candidates)

Glaucoma

Fellowship training requires more in-depth knowledge about the pathophysiology and management of ophthalmic diseases that can usually be obtained in residency training in Ophthalmology. This is a program of continuous period of intense and focused training in developing and maintaining knowledge, skills, scholarship, and professionalism.

Subspecialty Fellowship training for glaucoma encompasses the following areas:

  1. The fellowship program is designed to endow the fellows with an in-depth understanding about the pathophysiology and management of glaucoma and related ocular and systemic disorders.
  2. The program aims at providing an advanced level of training in the diagnosis, medical and surgical management of glaucoma which will in turn equip the fellows to manage patients with complex and/or severe glaucoma disorders and associated ocular and systemic conditions.

Duration:The duration of fellowship is (3 months duration, no hands-on exposure on surgeries will be provided).

Requirements::

  • Candidates who have completed post graduate degree

Accommodation for foreign trainees: During the training period candidate will stay in the guest house of IIEI&H which is placed beside the campus of the Hospital. Food will be provided by IIEI&H.
